Particle board, also known as particleboard and chipboard, is an engineered wood product manufactured from wood chips, sawmill shavings, or even sawdust, and a synthetic resin or other suitable binder, which is pressed and extruded.
In Vi-World, our chipboard/ particle board is made of 100% pure plantation rubber wood harvested from the rubber plantation which will be re-cultivated later on. Therefore, there is no usage of natural forest wood during the production.
Particleboard is cheaper, denser and more uniform than conventional wood and plywood and is substituted for them when appearance and strength are less important than cost. However, particleboard can be made more attractive by painting or the use of wood veneers onto surfaces that will be visible. Though it is denser than conventional wood, it is the lightest.
Generally, our base board is made of E2 grade chipboard which is commonly used in the market. Nevertheless, in-line with the global environmental & consumer well being concern, VI-World is proudly to present their new product to the market 'E1 & E0 Grade Chipboard'. These chipboards has an excellent bonding and low Formaldehyde emission as compared to E2 grade.
